How to Have a Fun Halloween Holiday for your Kids

(How to Celebrate Halloween with your Kids!)

Items that you'll need include :

* Halloween Costumes
* Halloween Candy
* Halloween Pumpkins
* Halloween Decorations

Step 1

Decorate your house for Halloween.

You should put up your Halloween decorations during the first week of October. This will give your family the entire month of October to get into the Halloween spirit.

Get your kids involved when decorating the house for Halloween. You can take your kids with you to a Halloween store and let them pick out a decorative item. Bring the items home and let your children choose where they will place the Halloween decoration that they've chosen.

Step 2

Take your kids to a pumpkin patch.

Pumpkin patches usually open during the first days of October.

Most pumpkin patches have entertainment, snacks, drinks and food. Pumpkin patches sometimes offer hay rides and other fun games for kids.

Your children can pick-out their own pumpkins at the pumpkin patch and bring them home to use later.

Step 3

Help your children carve their pumpkins.

A pumpkin carved with a scary face on it, is called a Jack-o-Lantern. You can carve almost anything into a pumpkin, such as a goofy face, names and words or even an image.

Place the carved pumpkins in your front yard and add a small candle inside of each pumpkin. You can light-up the candles at night, throughout the month of October.

The candles should definitely be lit on Halloween night.

Be very careful and always supervise your children while they are carving the pumpkins.

Take special care when lighting the candles inside of the pumpkins, to prevent anything from catching on fire.

After you've finished carving the pumpkins, you may want to roast then lightly salt the pumpkin seeds for your children to eat.

Step 4

Make Halloween themed foods for your children throughout the month of October.

It doesn't take more than a cupcake with orange icing and a black-plastic spider- ring on it, to make your kids get into the Halloween spirit.

Step 5

Watch Halloween movies and TV shows with your kids.

Spooky movies will get every one of your family members into the spirit of Halloween. You can easily find Halloween themed cartoons, movies and TV shows for younger children and you can even find horror movies that you can watch with older kids and teenagers.

Step 6

Buy different kinds of Halloween candy. Then occasionally place large bowls of candy around your house throughout the month of October.

You can use any type of serving bowl to hold your candy in, such as a large salad bowl or a store-bought plastic pumpkin.

There are many different types of suitable Halloween candy. Here are some types of candy for you to consider using for Halloween. :

* Small chocolate bars
* Individually wrapped (colorful) hard, soft and chewy candies
* Snack-size packs of candy or chocolates

Make sure that any bowls full of Halloween candy, are placed where young children can't reach them. Especially children that are small enough to choke on the candies. Hard candy isn't appropriate for young children. Young children should never be left alone with any kind of candy.

Step 7

Take your kids to a Haunted House, a few days before Halloween night.

You can also create your very own haunted house, in your front yard by using scary Halloween decorations.

Step 8

Dress up in your Halloween costumes, find a good neighborhood and take your kids Trick or Treating on Halloween night. Collect as much candy as you would like.

After you're done trick-or-treating, you can all go home and watch another scary movie while spending quality time together and sharing your Halloween candy with each other.

Tip :

* Save your Halloween decorations and costumes each year, in a plastic storage bin. Use the items for the next Halloween
  holiday.

Warning! :

* Children should always have adult supervision, especially on Halloween night.

* Children should always be supervised while Trick-or-Treating, eating Halloween candy, carving pumpkins, decorating for the
  holidays, etc.
